Stories worth spreading (StoryCorps)
I am addicted to visiting TED whenever I have an extra few minutes because
- I like good presentations under 20 min.
- I like positive ideas.
- I like an understanding emerging trends.
I also like the fact that many of the presenters are publishing excellent books that are found in Woodstock Public Library collection. This is true for this year’s TED 2015 prize winner David Isay who won for his work for Story Corps. If Ted is Ideas worth spreading then Story Corps is stories worth spreading. Woodstock Public Library currently offers these titles:
StoryCorps is one of the largest oral history projects of its kind. Since 2003, StoryCorps has collected and archived more than 50,000 interviews from more than 80,000 participants. Each conversation is recorded on a free CD to share, and is preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. Millions listen to our weekly broadcasts on NPR’s Morning Edition
and on StoryCorps’ Listen Page
