Let’s Just Say It Wasn’t Pretty is a new title by 68-year-old Diane Keaton, bestselling author and Academy Award winning actress.
The Toronto Star calls the book “wise, witty, uplifting, the truth, unvarnished — and very funny”. Independent minded Keaton chronicles the ups and downs of living and working in a world obsessed with youth and beauty and offers her readers quirky reflections, down to earth advice, and a message of empowerment.
As a prerequisite or a follow-up to this title, you might check out her 2011 title, Then Again, which was named one of the ten best books of the year by the New York Times. The NYT praised Keaton’s book as “A far-reaching, heartbreaking, absolutely lucid book about mothers, daughters, childhood, aging, mortality, joyfulness, love, work and the search for self-knowledge”.
