Finding Me : A Decade of Darkness, a Life Reclaimed

indexMichelle Knight’s Memoir of the Cleveland Kidnappings is a haunting read.  It details her eleven years in captivity and the unspeakable horror she endured, as well as her poor and abusive childhood prior to her kidnapping.   However that is only part of the story.  It is also an account of unbelievable strength, hope and above all, survival.

On the book’s back cover is a quote from Dr. Phil McGraw.  “In my twelve years of doing the Dr. Phil show, no one has changed me like Michelle Knight and her story of survival.”  Based on this statement I would think that spending time reading her book Finding Me would certainly be a worthwhile experience!

*Her fellow captives, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus are also writing a yet untitled memoir of their time in the “house of horrors”.  It is scheduled to be published in 2015.  Watch for it …
